The big deal about a little macaron

Every time I meet someone who either lives in Paris or has been to Paris, they mention the macaron from Ladurée. Naturally, I had to find out what the big deal was about this little sweet treat.

  6. Yum! Thanks so much for posting this and letting us taste them vicariously through you!

The very first time I had a macaron it was a revelation. I thought people had been talking about macaroons, the dense coconut treats consumed during Passover. And I don't care how good a macaroon is, I can't imagine waxing poetic about it. Imagine my surprise to find out that the macaron, is as different from a macaroon as a fish is from a Toyota. There's a Paulette's in SF that sells them, I may have to make a pilgrimage now... Love to You!

  7. Oh Janice....you look so relaxed and stress free. That Paris air must be doing wonders for you....or maybe it's the lack of office air!?

Either way....I'm loving your blog and videos. Let's me live vicariously thru you!

  8. Um so to be honest, I'm having mixed reactions about this post... I was excited for you to try what are apparently little puffs of crushed up baby angel but (specifically with the pistachio) there was some jealousy looming not so deep down... clearly I missed a party in my mouth... would have been the perfect accoutrement (sp?) to our chocolate chaud.
